New Delhi, Delhi, Jul 24, 2021 - After the new CoronaVirus variant unleashed a dangerous and brutal situation in India, millions of people were admitted to hospitals. Due to this, the demand for medical supplies, especially Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) increased manifolds.
With the reporting of more than three lakh cases every day, the oxygen demand multiplied approximately five times the pre-pandemic requirements. Requests for oxygen cylinders were flooding the social media platforms as the global healthcare and supply chain industry was fighting the scarcity of oxygen across several states. Many people and hospitals were left stranded due to the inadequate supply of desperately required LMO, with the sudden spike in cases due to the onslaught of Covid-19.
In these times of crisis, AWL India’s extensive and efficient supply chain network maintained a streamlined flow of the delivery of global aid that came from several nations to various states across India. It has worked in coordination with the Government of India to sustain the commitment of providing these oxygen supplies to all those in need.
The CEO of AWL, Rahul Mehra, says, "As a leading logistics company in India, we have been on the frontline since the very outset of the COVID-19 crisis, keeping the healthcare necessities and critical supply lines running. Supply chains were drastically impacted due to COVID-19, and AWL India as a leader made rapid, highly informed decisions to protect and support the people of India and to ensure steady supply chain operations”
Advanced and innovative logistics solutions and interactive dashboard CHAKSHU, along with the use of E-POD’s have allowed AWL to outline a smooth supply chain and an uninterrupted supply of the much-needed medical and oxygen supplies to even the remotest places with unprecedented accuracy and fast speed. With the use of data loggers, RFID tags, barcoding and labeling, regular alerts, IoT-enabled systems, keeping a track of the temperature-sensitive medical cargo, and many other digital and radical solutions, the task of keeping track and ensuring the deliveries has been simplified.
